Sheffield based Mayflower Engineering is set to invest in a state of the art large format 6KW fibre laser, which will be the first of its kind in the UK. The Trumpf 3060 Trulaser with the latest L81 controller will be installed in late August and benefits from the very latest advances in cutting technology.

New specialist division

The laser’s arrival will see Mayflower’s Plasma Plus division, which has gone from strength to strength since its launch in November last year, relaunched as Mayflower HiTech. Now, the HiTech division will provide customers with a single source for Laser cutting, Plasma Cutting, CNC Machining, Forming and Fabrication Services, as well as volume manufacture of assembly-ready kits of parts.
