CNC Laser Programmer/Nester

Mayflower Engineering is a market leading, well established Sheffield based company.
They specialise in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering projects and products, working with a variety of market sectors to deliver exceptional engineering solutions.

We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Laser Programmer/Nester reporting directly to the General Manager, the successful candidate would be required to have a minimum of three years’ experience within an Engineering CNC programming and nesting role and would be able to demonstrate a competency, through experience, in the production to produce CNC programmes for the company’s cutting machines, whilst implementing accurate nesting techniques.

A working knowledge of nesting software packages is essential e.g. Sigmanest or Columbus.

The company’s client base is wide ranging as is the extent of our manufacturing capability and in recognition of this, we would provide full support and back-up during the initial period of introduction to the company’s Programming and Nesting Department.

The successful candidate will possess a clear understanding and experience in the following:

- A good understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.

- Ability to use measuring equipment.

- Good communication skills at all levels.

- A working knowledge of lean, six sigma methodology to aid continuous improvement.

Skills & attributes required for the role:

- An ability to transfer programs to and from host computer.

- Attention to accuracy and detail.

- Well organised and methodical.

- Enthusiastic with a strong desire to progress.

- Ability to work to deadline.

- Competency in Microsoft Office and administration.

- Experience using Sigmanest, Radan, Columbus or similar.
