CURRENT VACANCIES:

Plater / Fabricator

We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Plater / Fabricator to work on a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering projects.

Successful candidates must be time served or able to demonstrate a competency through experience within the workplace. The individual will be required to ensure that jobs are manufactured in accordance with supplied technical drawings and produce work within the required timeframes whilst consistently achieving our quality standard (BSEN ISO 9001). Platers work in an assembly function and work is issued as a ‘kit of parts’. Sizes of jobs undertaken can range from small brackets to 20T fabrications, using predominantly mild steels varying from 6mm to 100mm in thickness.

Essential Experience:
• Experience within a fabrication environment.
• The ability to read, understand and work to engineering drawings.
• Overhead crane operating experience.
• A high standard of safety awareness and housekeeping.
• Some welding experience would be advantageous

Personal Qualities Required:
• A team player willing to assist fellow colleagues.
• A good verbal communicator.

This is a permanent position which offers an excellent remuneration package including the following benefits:
• Excellent rate of pay and bonus scheme
• 37 hour working week – overtime payable at time and a half on any additional hours worked over 37 and double time on Sundays
• 33 days holiday per year (25 days + 8 statutory) payable at time and a quarter of basic rate.
• Westfield Contributory Health Scheme
• Life Insurance of two times basic annual salary whilst in employment with Mayflower Engineering Limited

Material Handler

We are currently looking to recruit a Material Handler; the role may include picking, inward goods and dispatch duties. Previous experience working within a workshop environment is essential as is the use of operating a Fork Lift Truck and overhead cranes. A basic understanding of Engineering Drawings would be advantageous.

Essential Experience:
• Overhead crane operating experience.
• Fork Lift Truck Licence.
• Minimum of 12 months previous experience in an engineering environment.
• Awareness of safety and health issues.
• Good attention to details.
• Good interpersonal abilities.
• Good communication skills.

Personal qualities required:
• Being physically fit.
• A team player willing to assist fellow colleagues.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• A ‘can do’ attitude.

Coded Welder

We are currently looking to recruit a permanent Coded Welder to work on a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering projects.

We require fully skilled personnel to work on close tolerance work with a good all round engineering experience. Applicants must be time served or able to demonstrate a competency through experience within the workplace. Must be proficient in MIG welding using 1.2 wire; experience in medium to heavy MIG welding, FCAW welding and qualified to ASME IX or BSEN 287 would be preferred.

Ideal Experience:
• Experience within a fabrication environment.
• Experience in both light and heavy MIG welding
• Qualified to ASME IX or BS equivalent
• Coded to a recognised standard
• MMA/FCAW
• Ultrasonic work
• The ability to read, understand and work to engineering drawings.
• Overhead crane operating experience.
• A high standard of safety awareness and housekeeping.
