Business Development Manager - Hi-Tech

Mayflower Engineering is a market leading, well established Sheffield based company. They specialise in the design and manufacture of a diverse range of medium to heavy Mechanical Engineering bespoke projects and products, working with a variety of market sectors to deliver exceptional engineering solutions.

As part of Mayflower Engineering’s current business development strategy, we are looking to recruit a Business Development Manager to promote our laser and plasma cutting department.

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for developing our Hi-Tech department, focusing on the generation of sales through the development of new accounts and embracing our fabrication capabilities to grow revenue across rail and defence sectors.

A demonstrable track record in the development of new business sales in the field of laser cutting and fabrication is essential. Experience within the rail and defence sectors is advantageous. 

Ideal Experience:

*Ability to drive sales and build strong client relationships
*Generating leads and identifying target contacts 
*Strong field prospecting and sales experience
*Track record of selling into the relevant sectors
*Experience of selling bespoke/high value contracts
*Experience of presenting detailed, high quality and timely proposals 

Personal Qualities Required:

*Ambitious, credible and technically minded
*Excellent organisational and presentation skills 
*Good interpersonal skills
*Comfortable dealing with customers and prospects at all levels
*A team player willing to assist fellow colleagues
*A good verbal communicator
